Thought For The Day 5/8

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.” (Psalm 42:5, NKJV)

The mere presence of the Lord God should be all the encouragement we need.  This is only true if we recognize that He is present.

“Practicing the presence of the Lord is one of the wisest things we do.” Dr. Fred Fisher

Thought For The Day 5/7

“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.”(Colossians 4:5, NKJV)

Does this not mean that the best way to redeem the time is to testify about Jesus?  The way some operate, you would think that the first word of Hebrews 4:12 should be replaced with “periodically.”  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/6

And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.” (Luke 6:19, NKJV)

Just prior to this, Jesus had spent the night praying. The power of God naturally flows from anyone who commits their life to prayer.  Our role is not to direct it but prepare for it.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/5

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,” (Psalm 107:2, NKJV)

All the “Great Commission” does is say it another way.  The redeemed have never had permission to not tell.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/4

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” (Psalm 95:6, NKJV)

Our posture in prayer can say much about who our prayer is all about!  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/3

“ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.” (1 Timothy 6:11, NKJV)

There are things the man or woman of faith must flee from and things of the Spirit we must pursue diligently.  Many “falter” between the two (1 Kings 18:21) and find themselves miserable and unproductive for the Lord and themselves.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/2

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,” (Ephesians 1:22, NKJV)

The church is the only earthly entity that will survive beyond time.  No government, no corporation nor no media outlet will even be significant enough to get honorable mention.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 5/1

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” (Hebrews 10:16-17, NKJV)

He puts His laws into our hearts and minds via the Holy Spirit and in the same moment puts our sins and lawless deeds out of His mind.  Forever!  We know that He has done this and will one day behold Him in all His glory and for the first time experience in our flesh glory in its fullness.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 4/30

“Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” (Luke 7:47, NKJV)

Our love of the Lord and the lost is simply a matter of how accurately we perceive the depth of our own forgiveness.  Paul proclaimed himself “chief of sinners” in 1 Timothy 1:15.  There is the misguided notion about that the rest of us are just Indians.  -Mike Wilson-

Thought For The Day 4/29

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20, NKJV)

Is “pleading” the experience we have when sharing our faith with a lost person?  -Mike Wilson-
